The Windsor Stars Soccer Return Home

The Windsor Stars Soccer team is excited to be returning home to play in front of their fans this weekend. The Stars, (1-1-2) played extremely well on the road the last two games, winning against the Sanjaxx Lions and settling for a draw with Sigma FC. Now the Stars focus their attention on the Kingston Clippers (2-2-1) who will pay a visit to Windsor, Sunday afternoon, game time is at 4:00 p.m. at the McHugh Soccer Complex.

Events - Windsor and Detroit - The Windsor TELUS Ride for Dad

START YOUR ENGINES!

The Windsor TELUS Ride for Dad campaign to fight prostate cancer is taking to the road on Sunday, May 24th!



WINDSOR May 21, 2015 —On Sunday, May 24th, motorcyclists will rev their engines to raise funds for the fight against prostate cancer – the most commonly diagnosed men’s cancer in Canada. Riders and supporters from the Windsor-Essex County region will come together to take part in a parade departing from Riverfront Festival Plaza at 10am.



The TELUS Motorcycle Ride For Dad is asking the community to get involved, be committed, and lend their support. You don’t need to be a motorcycle rider to help fight against prostate cancer – non-riders can make a donation, raise their own pledges as a champion, or just come out to the event to cheer on the riders!

LaSalle Vipers hand out team awards at year-end banquet

The LaSalle Vipers handed out their end-of-season team awards Tuesday night at their annual Year-End Awards Banquet at the Walkerville Brewery.



Veteran forward Korey Morgan was named Most Valuable Player after leading the team in regular season scoring with 31 goals and 56 points. Morgan was a threat to score in all situations, posting seven goals with the man-advantage as well as four shorthanded markers – both team highs.



Brendan Harrogate and Daniel Beaudoin were named co-winners of the Playoff MVP award, after scoring 33 and 32 points, respectively, in the Vipers 29 playoff games. LaSalle was a finalist for both the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League Western Conference and Sutherland Cup titles.

NBL Canada Announces Changes to 2015-16 Season

(TORONTO, ON) The National Basketball League of Canada's Board of Governors' meeting on Thursday in Toronto was highlighted by a strong commitment of unity and feelings of optimism regarding the future of the league.



In probably the most important owners' meeting in league history, the team owners were able to openly and honestly discuss the pressing issues at hand and how to resolve them.  The owners reaffirmed their commitment to the NBL Canada and expressed their willingness to put aside egos to work together to improve the league in all areas.



Richard Petko, the majority owner of the new Niagara NBL Canada expansion franchise, participated in his first board meeting.  Niagara's entry into the league was fully approved and executed at the meeting.

LaSalle Vipers Battisti sets league high 10 franchise records in 2014-15

Morgan, Billing also hit the record books



LaSalle – LaSalle Vipers goaltender Paolo Battisti had a banner year in 2014-15, leading all GOJHL Western Conference players by setting eight franchise records, and tying two others.



Battisti has the best career save percentage, with .904, the best career playoff save percentage, with .921 and the best career playoff goals against average with 2.63.

The 5th Annual Bob Probert Ride

Registration Details



The first pre-registration night will be taking place at Abars, 7880 Riverside Dr E., Windsor on Thursday, May 28th from 4:00-7:00 p.m.



The second pre-registration night will be held at Colchester Bar and Grill, 67 County Rd 50 W., Harrow on Thursday, June 11th from 3:00-8:00 p.m.



Riders can also register in advance at Thunder Road Harley-Davidson during regular store hours between May 7th-June 10th.



Event day registration begins at 9 a.m. at Thunder Road Harley-Davidson.
