Canada’s Under-18 Team Routs Czech Republic 9-0

Advance to Gold Medal Game

Breclav, CZE – Canada’s Men’s National Under-18 Team, led by Team Canada and Windsor Spitfire Head Coach Bob Boughner will be looking to secure their fifth Gold Medal in six years following today’s 9-0 rout of the Czech Republic in Canada’s final game of the preliminary round at the 2009 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Men’s Under-18 Tournament. Team Canada scored two goals in the first 1:11 of the first period and never looked back in securing a victory over the Czechs.

Team Canada finished with a perfect 3-0 record, good for first place in Group A of the tournament and will face Team Russia, winners of Group B in the Gold Medal game this Saturday at 11 am ET.
