Spitfires Announce Details for Thursday’s Banner Raising Game

(Windsor) The Windsor Spitfires are proud to announce the entertainment details for this Thursday’s 7:05 p.m. home game versus the Erie Otters at the WFCU Centre.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early as the team will be hosting a pre-game parking lot party starting at 5 p.m. outside of Gate 2 at the WFCU Centre. Steve Bell and Paul McDonald from AM800 CKLW will be on hand to host a special pre-game radio broadcast from 6 – 7 pm.

AM800 will also be hosting interactive games, providing fans with the chance to win prizes! Fans can also take their picture with the Memorial Cup, J. Ross Robertson OHL Championship and Wayne Gretzky Western Conference Championship trophies outside.

Musical guests Super Natural, featuring Kim Klyn will be performing at the party with a beer garden and food tent, Spits mascot Bomber, face painters, clowns, stilt walkers and more on hand!

Windsor Acquires Draft Picks from Guelph Storm

(Windsor) Windsor Spitfires Vice-President and General Manager Warren Rychel today announced that the Spitfires have acquired a 7th round pick in the 2010 OHL Priority Selection and a 6th round pick in 2012 from the Guelph Storm.

In exchange, the Spitfires have sent overage forward Conor O’Donnell to the Storm.

“Already having three overage players on our team, we felt it was best to provide Conor with a chance to further his OHL career. We wish Conor the very best in Guelph and thank him for his service to the Spitfires over the past two seasons,” said Warren Rychel.
