Canadian Sailing Championship to be held in Windsor, Ontario

The warm waters of Lake St Clair will be the venue for the most important event of the year for the Canadian Melges 24 fleet. The Melges 24 Canadian Championship will take place from July 10 until July 12 out of Windsor Yacht Club in cooperation with Canadian Melges 24 Class Association.

With boats from USA and Canada and travelling from far away as Atlanta, GA it looks to be a very competitive weekend of sailing with up to 9 races scheduled over the 3 days.

In Play! Magazine - Lasalle Vipers named ‘Team of the Year’

Vipers named ‘Team of the Year’ for on-ice success, community work.



LaSalle – The Vipers were named the ‘Team of the Year’ by the LaSalle Kin Club at their annual Community Fund Awards night, held at LaSalle’s Town Hall June 25.



The award was accepted on behalf of the team by Vipers captain Brett Langlois and marketing coordinator Rob Benneian.



The award recognizes the local team that ‘not only finds success in their competitive environment, but contributes to the community at large’, according to Kin Club director Chuck Stoffle.



The Vipers – on the strength of a ‘never quit’ attitude – reached the Sutherland Cup finals this past spring, marking the third trip to the All-Ontario finals for the franchise since 2008.

In Play! Magazine - No Stopping the Essex Ravens!

June 25, 2015 - After dropping their first game of the Ontario Junior Varsity Football League schedule, it appears as though there is no stopping the Essex Ravens.



Winning four in a row, Essex will put their Adam Conference leading 4-1 record on the line Saturday night when they host the Cambridge Lions. Game time is 7 p.m at the University of Windsor field.

In Play! Magazine - Windsor Clippers Head to the Playoffs

June 25, 2015 - The regular season is over and now it's playoff time for the Windsor Clippers of the Ontario Lacrosse Association Junior 'B' league.



Thursday night the locals open their best-of-five series against the visiting Elora Mohawks. Game Two goes Monday in Elora and then it's back home at the Forest Glade Arena for an 8 p.m start on Thursday, July 2.

Windsor-Essex Sports Council​ (WESC) is pleased to announce that it shall carry-on the legacy of the HOCKtoberfest International Female Hockey Festival in 2016. The tournament, which will be delivering its 8th installment at arenas in both Windsor and Tecumseh through “The GR8 SK8” (October 16-18, 2015), has welcomed over 80+ participating teams annually from Ontario, Michigan, Illinois, Florida and England by providing a unique avenue of competition for girls at all levels of hockey.
